Junior Chess Edmonton holds monthly tournaments during the school year, usually at Edmonton Chess Club, 10840 124 Street, Edmonton, on Sunday afternoons. There is also a series of scholastic matches between elementary schools (teams of 5 players) and junior highs (teams of 4 players). Individual tournament dates for the fall of 2006 are: October 1, November 5, December 3 (Xmas tournament which is usually biggest of year and everyone goes home with at least a treat!). Seniors Chess each Tuesday, throughout the year, 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Northgate Shopping Centre, 137 Avenue and 97 Street, Edmonton. Drop-in fee of a loonie. While most members are over age 55, younger visitors are welcome.

Time: It's time for a new season!
Registration (Ages 7 to 15) will be held at the Hazeldean branch of the Ottawa Public Library commencing on Wednesday, September 7th and will continue until October 7th, or until the sessions are full. We will be hosting two separate sessions, a 10am to noon and a 2pm to 4pm session. The season will commence on Saturday October 8th, and finish on Saturday, March 4th.

The KJCC is a forum for players of different ages and ability levels to play each other in a fun and supportive environment. Chess ladders and tournaments will be part of the program. Players muust understand the basic chess rules. Formal chess instruction is not part of the program

The cost for the 2005/2006 season is $35.00 per player

Nepean-Ottawa chess club for children Place: Barrhaven Time: Sunday evenings.
The Wizards Chess Club runs on Sunday evenings in Barrhaven. Sessions are 9 weeks long, with 3 sessions available between September and June. The students are divided based on skill level, into as many as 8 small groups. Classes are 60 minutes long, and include formal instruction, game play, and homework sheets. All students receive an accomplishment certificate, and the 9th week is a big tournament involving all the children from all the classes, with trophies per group, and offically rated per the Chess&Math organization. Simcoe County Chess Club
Place: We are located in Barrie, Collingwood, and Orillia, and have been continuously active since 2003 (incorporated in 2007). We are responsive to our community and provide a comprehensive offering for players of all ages and stages: lessons, recreational and competitive play.
Juniors: (1) Simcoe Satudays lessons and tournaments are offered on a weekly basis from Sept. to May at Ferris Lane Community Church, 49 Ferris Lane, Barrie.
